This website

  • We use cookies only for visitor statistics, and only if you say yes. See Cookies and visitor statistics below. We use no advertising and no other tracking.
  • The website is hosted on GitHub Pages. GitHub may log technical information such as IP addresses for security and operation. See the GitHub Privacy Statement.
  • All fonts are served from this website, not from Google or other font services.
  • Shows are played through Mixcloud’s player. When you play a show, Mixcloud’s own privacy policy applies.

Cookies and visitor statistics

When you first visit, we ask if we may count your visit. Only if you say yes, the website loads Google Analytics from Google Ireland Limited. Before that, nothing is sent to Google.

  • It shows us which pages and shows people visit, roughly where in the world they are, and which device and browser they use. We use it only to make better shows and a better website.
  • Google Analytics sets the cookies _ga and _ga_*, which last up to 13 months. Google does not store your IP address.
  • Google signals and all advertising features are turned off. The data is kept for 14 months.
  • Google may process the data in the United States under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.
  • You can change your mind at any time with Cookie settings at the bottom of every page. If you say no, the cookies are removed. Your choice is remembered in your browser’s local storage, not in a cookie.

Ratings and notes

When you rate a show or leave a note for Simone, we store your rating, your note, the first name and town you give us, and your email address only if you add it. The data is stored with Scaleway in Paris, France. We use it to read and reply to your note and to remember feedback for future shows. We quote your note and first name on the website, sometimes with Simone’s reply, only if you ticked the box. Notes are deleted after two years, or earlier if you ask.

The weekly letter

If you sign up, we use your email address only to send the letter when a new show is out. You confirm your address before anything is sent, and every letter has a one-click unsubscribe link.

The letter is sent with Brevo (Sendinblue SAS, Paris, France), which stores the list within the EU. Brevo records whether a letter was delivered, opened or clicked, which we use only to see that the letter works. When you unsubscribe, you get no more letters, and Brevo keeps only a note that you should not be emailed again.

When you write to us

If you email simone@thegroovelounge.com or comment on our shows or posts on Mixcloud, Instagram or Threads, we keep your name, address or username and message to reply to you and to remember feedback for future shows. They are deleted after two years, or earlier if you ask.

To read and reply to messages we use AI models from Anthropic in the United States. Your email address is never shared with them. We never sell your information or share it for marketing.

Google Drive

The show’s own production tools use Google Drive with the show’s own Google account to store audio files and backups. No data from other Google users is accessed, and the data is not shared with anyone, used for advertising or used to train AI models. The use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Your rights

Under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) you can ask to see, correct or delete the personal data we hold about you. Write to richard@thegroovelounge.com and we will respond within 30 days. You may also contact the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection (IMY).

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be published on this page with a new date.
